Here I am with my friend, Steve Perry. We go way back. I inspired him to write, "Wheel in the Sky." I originally thought, "Toy on the Floor" would be a good title but he changed it.

This is my newest sister, Eliza Mae Ezmerelda! (At least she's not another rodent.)
... wait a minute, I forgot. I have TWO sisters who are rodents! This is Olive Pit. She's a gerbil. Olive died on 11/11/05. She was almost 3. We miss her.
Hi! I'm Lily Raisin, a tawny spotted Ocicat. I was born on October 17, 1995 in Nebraska at KK Kit n' Kats cattery. Mom was lucky enough to find me two weeks after her 17 year old cat, Kitty, died on February 2, 1996 from kidney failure. Mom had no intention of getting another cat so soon after Kitty died but when she saw me, she had to take me home with her.
Emma Magnolia, my chinchilla sister, was originally named "Lloyd" ... even though she is a girl. Our neighbor was looking for a new home for "Lloyd" and knew my Mom had offered to babysit her in the past. My mom thought she'd give having "Lloyd" in the house a try ... even though my Dad has terrible allergies. Mom thought if Daddy's head exploded or anything, it would be time to give "Lloyd" back. Needless to say, Daddy's head is still in one piece and "Lloyd" became "Emma Magnolia" within one day's stay at her new home. Emma was born in May of 2001. I get along with Emma Magnolia very well, believe it or not. We actually touch noses and keep each other company. I love to watch Emma take her sand baths even though they don't make much sense to me at all. Sometimes she scares me, though, because she can be really noisy when she runs on her wheel or runs around her cage.
One of Dad's coworker told mom how clean gerbils were and how they didn't smell. Well, I mean, they can smell with their noses but you can't smell them. Mom had been wanting to get a gerbil for a while but Dad thought that wouldn't be a good idea. (Dad doesn't think a lot of things mom does are "good ideas" but mom doesn't seem to be phased by this.) Olive Pit was living alone at a pet store and mom tried to get her a sister gerbil so she wouldn't be lonely, but Olive Pit didn't want to get along with any other gerbils. Olive and Emma have each other instead. At night, when they're both really active, they'll race on the wheels in their cages to see who can run the fastest for the longest time. They always end up in arguments over who wins. UPDATE: Olive Pit died on November 11, 2005. She was almost 3..
Eliza Mae Ezmerelda is new to the family since December 13, 2004. You can read all about her here. In brief, she was a feral cat my mom and aunt Carol had been trying to catch for 3 1/2 years. Eliza was always too smart for them. In December of 2004, I guess she had just had enough of the cold weather and enough of having kittens that she finally let mom trap her.
Our beloved Lily Raisin passed from this world to the next on Sunday, December 9th, 2007 around 4PM. She fought a long and exhaustive battle against her cancer. She made it known she was tired and ready to go even though we didn't want to say goodbye. We will miss our little girl more than words can express. Be at peace little one. .
